Parts of town and the monuments present, including the original Government house, the most ancient theatre of the Indian Ocean and the museums (the Mauritius Institute’s Museum of Natural History holds in exhibit the now-extinct dodo, a bird known only to have inhabited this island country) that lie a pleasant stroll away.
