No 'Mamata' for Buddha!

Mamata Banerjee re-emerges from the dumps to wage a war against industrialisation in her state She is oft en described as maverick, stormy petrel of West Bengal. A rabble rouser; a fickle-minded and instable leader. She has painstakingly earned these titles over the years, hurling abuses at her opponents and colleagues alike, by throwing tantrums inside the Parliament and on the roads. People often ask why does Didi demand so much attention. Why is she so aggressive and combative by nature? One thing is certain – she is fiercely ambitious and would go to any lengths to achieve her objectives. It's this very ambition that led the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) President Mamata Banerjee to go on a 25-day fast to protest against the acquisition of fertile land at Singur for Tata Motors’ proposed car plant.
